My Story

My name is Asusena, but almost everyone calls me Susan. I'm from Chicago, Illinois and moved out to the Champaign area about 5 years ago to attend the University of Illinois. At first I really didn't know what I wanted to study so I spent my first year exploring all types of classes. It was my love of making things and that eventually drew me into Industrial Design. 

Currently, my interests are in human-centered and disability design, though I have worked on a variety of projects both individually and in teams that focus on many user needs. These interests can be traced back to wanting to move into the medical field from a very young age, however, through Industrial Design I was able to find a mesh between my love of learning about medicine and my love of creating.
